Wilfrid Newson Sperryn (1883 - 1948)
Thanks to his great-grandson, here is a copy of Wilfrid's birth certificate.
Sometime in the 1890s (probably 1893) James Sperryn (Wilfrid's father) moved his family to Durban in South Africa.
Wilfrid Newson Sperryn was in the 1904 Junior Cup winning Stella Football Club of Port Durban.

By 1906 both Wilfrid and his younger brother Clarence Percy are in the under 20 team photo, though Wilfrid would have been at least 22.
