Dear Mr Sperryn
We, your fellow employees could not permit you to leave us
without expressing out heartfelt regret at parting from you.
And in token of the very high estimation in which we hold you, as a
true gentleman; a kind and genial fried and an upright, conscientious and ef-
ficient man of business, - We beg of you to accept the accompanying
gift of plate.
In the higher sphere of trust and responsibility to which you are
called, and in the confidence thus reposed in you by the firm, you have only
what your character and abilities richly merit; and we beg most heartily to con-
gratulate you on your advancement, and to assure you that we shall ever rejoyce
to hear of your success, and we trust that you and Mrs. Sperryn and fam-
ily may long be spared to enjoy health, prosperity and every blessing.
