Carte de Visité Album![]() Sadly, this album contains the photos of now nameless people from the 1860s to 1890s. They were mostly photographed in Birmingham, London & Bristol. As none was taken in the USA or Canada, it seems unlikely that the album belonged to George or Charlotte Sperryn. Its Bristol connection makes it tempting to think that there are people here who are James Brownings' relatives, but equally there are 1860s Birmingham photographers included. George and Charlotte were the first Sperryns to live in Birmingham, but not until 1881. Charlotte is recorded as having been born in Coventry, so perhaps the album came to her from her family. The album can be viewed as 2 slideshows: Pages 1 - 14 Pages 14 - 24 More information about one of the Birmingham photographers (H J Whitlock) can be found at http://www.cartes.freeuk.com/visitors/whit.htm Return to Homepage |
