An 1877 letter to Florry from her brother George about his first child Charlotte

Some paintings by Flo survive today and there is a record of a Miss F Sperryn at 200 Regent Street London being a photographer in 1908, but in 2010 neither a nephew nor niece (George Sperryn and Ruth Copeland) could remember her being a photographer.

In 1955 or 1956 George Neville Sperryn took his aunt Flo to visit the farm he had bought, managed at the time by his youngest son Paul. Paul's wife Eleanor told me (her son Huw) that she regretted not having taken a photo of 4 generations together. I was the youngest generation, but being still in a pram I don't remember it.

"I thought you might be interested in my memory of Auntie Flo. Because when I was about 10 years old (that's going back a bit!) I went with Marjorie to stay at Kinver, where A.Flo lived. She had one of those funny little homes that were built against the sandstone cliffs, so that her back yard was a bit cave like. I tried to find some more information about Kinver on my iPad, but I'm not very clever with it, and drew a blank."

Ruth Copeland (ne้ Sperryn)[1918 - 2011] in 2011

There couldn't have been electric lighting in the house as Ruth also distinctly remembered her hair catching alight from a candle as she and her sister Marjorie went up to bed.
