Elizabeth (aka Bunty) Eleanor Sperryn (28.Jan.1915 - 16.June.2004)

Parents: Arthur James Sperryn & Elizabeth Gow Forsyth

Melville and Monica Sperryn kindly contributed the following:

Aunt Edith and her sister, Elizabeth (known as Bunty) grew up with Wilfrid James Sperryn as they were cousins all living in Durban.
Aunt Edith was a delightful lady, a gracious hostess but who was not afraid to call a spade a spade!
They were both sweet ladies who stayed on in their homes until the end.
Aunts Edith and Bunty came to our wedding on 3 September, 1977 and here is a photo of them at our wedding reception at the Royal Hotel in Durban.

Aunt Edith is in blue, Aunt Nanna from Kjelvei side is in the middle and Aunt Bunty in red on the side.
Aunt Edith had a gentleman friend / border who lived with her. He used to drive them around in her old Merc. One day he parked it somewhere but could not remember where after doing his shopping, so simply walked home to her house. Eventually it was located, waiting safely in the parking garage.
They each had a servant taking care of their needs as they became frail together. He became deaf and she could not walk but they stayed happily together!

Letters written by Edith & Bunty.
